PROBLEM SOLVING AS DESIGNER AND SCIENTIST

I am currently exploring the intersection of data, research, and design as a UX Researcher at Google.

My approach to UX design is shaped by my training in research and biomedical engineering. I have a passion for seeking structure in ambiguity and tackling complex problems with creative solutions. I believe that understanding forms the basis for innovation and that clarity of thought magnifies the power of creativity.

As a researcher, I enjoy breaking down a complex problem into its key components, collecting insights from data, and then putting it all back together in a clear and meaningful story.

As a designer, I love working at the intersection of ideas and disciplines. I strive for deliberate and holistic solutions that resonate with people and empower them to accomplish their goals in new and unexpected ways.

These days, when I'm not working, you can find me carving linoleum prints, rediscovering how to watercolor, or bouldering in the Dogpatch.

Design is where science and art break even.
